Visiting FreeGeek Chicago: Linux Laptops on the Cheap!

I visited FreeGeek Chicago recently and talked with the owner for a few hours. The good news is for those on the wait-list that could use a laptop or desktop sooner, his NFP works similar ways with refurbishing (most with Linux distros) except he has stock ready to acquire, and at very affordable prices. Some ready to use laptops are sold for as low as $20. Plus, if you are in need of a laptop or desktop and can demonstrate that you are on any kind of public aid or assistance or disability, he will knock off 50%, a one time discount per person per household.
If you want to get to FreeGeek Chicago from the North East side of Chicago, take the Red line to 95th (end of the line) then get on the 112 CTA Bus to 111th and Kedzie. The 112 CTA Bus loads at the North East wing of the newly reconstructed 95th Terminal.
Also the owner is an avid OS/2 advocate and he is the main OS/2 dude at the Midwest Vintage Computer Shows every year. Him and I hit it up on most things IBM OS/2 related, right away.

It is free to attend and educational for the entire family.
